We like to share our experiences for the good of the community and hopefully this post will help someone out in the future… and save some stress while we’re at it.

Our problem was this.. a new web hosting client wanted to move their SlideShowPro site over to our hosting platform. We use Heart Internet, (among others) to host some of our clients’ sites so we thought we’d do the same for this new client.

Server move seemed to go ok, all files transferred fine, database transferred and connected fine.. DNS was switched live, and then a few days later… Bang! Any link from the homepage of the clients’ site was giving the following error:

Eventually we worked out that this was due to Heart Internet’s firewall rules that prevented the offending script from "cURLing" to another script in the same IP. Someone else had experience this here: http://forums.slideshowpro.net/viewtopic.php?id=23180

So, after all this stress we finally shifted the site to a VPS platform we have (late at night!! We’re hard workers we are!!) and this has done the trick. Should have just done this in the first place! You live, your learn.
